CHINESE MEDICINE

This is listed as separate and distinct from acupuncture because it’s an actual medical system that allows for a practitioner to understand and organize symptoms beyond the pathophysiological model of Western medicine. Emotions and personality styles become factors to understand and appreciate when looking at clients through the lens of Chinese medicine.
Dr Kokayi has been prescribing Chinese herbs for over thirty five years. He has studied with various teachers and institutions and in the nineties he was designated a Diplomate in Chinese Herbology by a national certifying organization (NCCAOM). He uses botanical formulations that are hundreds of years old with extensive commentaries and additions that Dr Kokayi has been able to adapt to the care of Western clients in modern times. Dr Kokayi feels that the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine in primary care is really essential as it can provide relief without long term reliance on therapies which do not address underlying energy imbalances behind the biochemical aberrations.
